Pinstripe removal

There's got to be an easier way.

My pinstipes are old and cracked. They are impossible to remove. Using a credit card is not working.

Would heating them up with a hairdryer or heatgun help? Keep in mind they are really weathered.

I didnt use anthing, just washed my car dried it, detailed it and parked in the Texas sun. I have a black car so the pin stripes came right off. Use a hair dryer.

go to the automotive paint supply store.... you want to buy an "eraser".... it is a round soft rubber tool..... you can put it in a die grinder or an electric drill...... it is made of very soft rubber like an eraser (hence the name) so it will not damage your paint... trust me it is the only way to go..... when your pin stripes are old and cracked.... you can peel them off by hand but it will take forever

Me and my friend did it to his old 240 in 60 degree weather, but we had like 3 hairdryers, burnt out fingers a couple times, My freind got frustrated and took a razor to the metal, I hit him, but yeah we used our finger nails and got a couple of blisters from all the rubbing because the lack of bug and tar off

3m rubber wheel and drill is easy and fast. dont apply pressure, just put the wheel up againt pin stripe and let it do its work. and becareful not to burn the paint, move it back and forth. when you're done step back and notice how your panels flow a lot nicer without the stripe.

Try with a heatgun/hairdryer first since that eraser makes kind of a mess (it all cleans off, just kind of a pain). I'd suggest mother's prewax cleaner to remove the glue and/or eraser mess. It may take some elbow grease, but it works great to get rid of the glue.

Mineral Spirts. NOT LAQUER OR PAINT THINNER! It'll take the pinstripes and adhesive right off and not the paint.

discoloration?

anybody know if this will leave a lot of discoloration? since the paint has been exposed to the elements for a few years, i'd expect it to be a bit darker? I have a green mist 99 gle with gold pinstripes. I really want to remove them, but i'm afraid of it looking worse with a dark line then it does with the pinstripes!
