Very cool, but if you are removing the IACV and Throttle body, do you need a replacement gasket for anything?

YES and YES, use a new gasket on the TB and the IACV - trust me on this, besides if u have the chance to replace a part and put something brand new on ur engine, why not do it ? its only a few dollars

wrong, it exchanges hot and cold air in the engine and helps with gas mileage when not clogged. i put a new egr tube in and cleaned the intake out and my gas mileage is better and the car runs better for it. and no more check engine light. do you think it was meant to be clogged??? nope, its just build up from being so old and crappy gas leaving deposits.

Just curious is the the tube that come out from the side the one that needs to be cleaned or am I cleaning the wrong one. The tube has like a bolt in one end and a rubber connection on the other one cause I have the same problem and I replaced the whole valve/solenoid. Thanks

Another Soution to 0302 Error Code

I have an Infiniti I30 1999 and I have been getting the 0302 error code. After two visits to the mechanic, they found out that it was the clogged vacuum line, which connects to the EGR Valve, that was causing the error message. Only cost me $90.

I hope this helps.

There are two tubes. The MAIN tube that gets clogged is the larger one. HOWEVER, the smaller tube you speak of should be checked as well. The rubber tube that connects it can get weak over time and and actually prevent airflow, as I found out when I did mine.
There wasn't much in the tube, but I cleaned it with small piece of speaker wire and Seafoamed it, and replaced the rubber tube. It can't hurt anything to do it...

Just as a thought, two of the pics in that picture diagram further up were taken by me. I've made my pics publc so anyone could use them. It would be nice to get some credit tho....

I bent the bug EGR tube down til it broke right where that big a$$ nut is...the good thing is that the small egr tube is cleaned. Has anyone replaced the the big egr tube?

I haven't cleaned by EGR valve or IAC valve.

Where is the EGR plenum? I understand that is what gets clogged up. Is this the tube that is being referred to?

I had to replace my EGR control solenoid last December.

Code P0400 help!

Ok, I have a 1998 Nissan Maxima GXE. Got code P0400 and P0325. The mechanic replaced the EGR Valve, cleaned the EGR tubes, and replaced the knock sensor. 2 days later, P0400 comes back. The mechanic replaced the BPT Valve and EGRC solenoid. 2 days later, P0400 again.

Any thoughts? If there is something wrong with the EGR system, why does it take 2 days to throw the code? Is it possible I have a bad EGR temperature sensor? (another $100-$130 part.)

R U sure that the tubes were cleaned? Also, IF they did clean the tubes, but did NOT clean the back of the intake plenum where the big tube attaches at the top, then I would think there is still a clog there.
