This loud rattle noise (kinda sounds like if you put a metal screw in a plastic film container and shake it) occurs in my lower center console, sounds like its coming from the bottom under BCM. (this is a pic of the BCM i am referring to : http://www.vqpower.com/v2/modules.ph...howpage&pid=13) It's hard to track down cuz i only hear it occationally, more often when the car is cold. I removed the entire radio/ temp control bracket. at this point it sounded like the noise was coming from the BCM, So i removed that. The noise is still there. the only thing left is the heater unit, shown here: .

Thats kind of a ***** to remove and i dont wanna do that just to find out it isnt that which is causing the noise.

I checked out the TSBs and none of the "rattles" mentioned seem to be what i am experiencing. The power brake check valve (http://www.jatan.net/tsbs/057029.pdf) seemed probable, but that noise comes from the top area of teh center console AND i dont have an automatic, so i ruled that one out.

has anyone experienced this??? please help its driving me crazy...

 

i get the same noise PLUS a noise from under the gauges. sounds like two plastic panels should be attached, but the screw somehow came loose and everytime I hit a itty bitty bump, I'll hear it rattle ever so softly. My fix is just to turn the music just that much louder.

 

haha, ya i have been doing the same... i decided to tear my whole console apart today to fix it and then i couldnt so now im pissed and i have no temp controls or radio. i refuse to replace them till i get this crap fixed.

 

i really do think a screw came loose, so what I'm gonna do when spring hits is rip out my entire console, have a friend drive my car over a nice bumpy road and see what moves. while your controls are out, might as well do the led lighting. I did mine halfassed, but still came out decent. Gonna redo all interior and neons when spring comes, too cold out.
