i bought a 96 a couple of weeks ago, and ive been lurking around here learning a little. thing is, i know zero about cars. your computer, that i can fix. replacing a headlight? nope.

i read through all the stickies, i bought the haynes guide, but no confidence.

i know alot of what i want to do, but i dont know where to get the parts or the service cheaply.

so wise gurus of 4th gen maxima, let me into your cult

advice? flames? thanks!

Unless your a programmer, If you can fix a computer by putting a CPU on a board or disassembling one its not much different than fixing a car

What would you like to do to your car?

Ya I'm a programming computer-type, not hardware, so I sometimes struggle with hands-on type stuff. I stick to the basics .

That will help you out. You should also donate 20 bucks to get you OT access and the ability to search.

From your list above it doesnt look like you've read enough yet. There are a crapload of these threads lying around.

Also, your car's color is silver? is that custom, or did u mistake it for another color?

Wow by far the easiest mods known to man! All of those things are very easy to change even for the most novice of enthusiasts. THe corner lights you can ask packetattack where he got them from online.. they only have 1 screw holding them in. THe bumper lights you can get on ebay, you can also find the tail lights there. THe headlights you can get them anywhere, for just bulbs I'd suggest Sylvania Silverstars. THe one for the interior you can find at any rice shop. Air filter its not even worth to get an intake, other than a Cold Air intake. If I were you I"d just get a K&N Panel filter.

Y pipe and exhaust you'd have to take somewhere as a novice as yourself wouldnt be able to do. I"d try a budget Y pipe or warpspeed. Exhaust I'd buy a muffler and have the rest of exhaust done somewhere.

This is a good question to start with. Look around and see things on other peoples car's that you like and would like to do to your car, then find out how to via the stickies and grow from their.

After finding a few small and rather easy things to do (intake, y-pipe, clear corners, etc.) read up on how to do them, then give it a go on your own. It's a good way to learn while modding at the same time.
