What kind of problems will i run into with a fiberglass bumper?

I really love the M-bumper from redlinemax. However, its fiberglass, and im not too sure how bad it is and what kind of problems ill be running into down the road. Is it worth buying one of these? Im a careful driver, but i drive on highways alot also, so will the paint chip or something?

Paint chips will accord regardless what type of material. Fiberglass is easy to paint and easy to repair. But fiberglass will crack instead of flex when you hit something.

The body shop that did my stillen kit said that fiberglass kits can shatter easily and a lot of times it takes a lot of work for fitment to be good.

but how though? how easily can it crack? im thinking that the only way it can crack bad is if i rear end someone, or if i hit a speedbump REAL hard....it can just crack while driving????

You should ask or PM to guys who have the same one, and thats probably like 10 people if that. Because most of the other people have no clue, or say by other fiberglass bumpers.

Fiberglass is not as durable as polyurethane, but I'm told it's easier and a lot less expensive to repair. As long as you're careful, you shouldn't have any issues with a fiberglass front bumper, but If you have a choice between the two, I'd go with urethane.

God damn I like the look of M bumper on max. Honestly I would get it over stillen lip because every other max has it, the lips are becoming like a front diamond bumper lenses. And it also looks much better then a skyline front bumper, so if you like it, definetely get it. It won't crack unless you really hit something, but then any bumper will be f*cked.

M bumper is lame, why would we be copying BMW's ?? if u really care about being unique then stay stock cuz copying a bmw sounds more lame than copying other maximas on .org

i would like to see the look on an m3 owners face, "haha, sucker maxima owners wish they had the real deal, poor wannabe's"

You're entitled to your own opinion, however I'd think twice about bashing someone else's contribution to the .org, especially if you've done nothing to contribute yourself.

I don't like BMWs but the look of that bumper I like. I guess you are one of those EVO 5 Stillen kit guys, but not even that, u got nothing.
I told 99MAXSE-L my opinion, but you instead of giving some input, just saying how bad it is.
Modding is about being unique and not having what every second car has.

99MAXSE-L go for it man, I bet you'll like it. I'm personally getting a lip because that bumper I can't afford, plus I just had mine repainted recently. But if I had $$$, I would buy it myself.

Too bad we dont have Skylines here in the US either... I can only imagine what they'd say.

so having an M bumper is unique to u? id rather have my stillen kit that was made for MAXIMA's rather than an M bumper thats suppose to make it look like u got a high performance luxury bmw coupe. IMO ur defenition of unique is way off and i bet u that stillen kit is still hella unique everywhere else besides on .org and who really cares what others on .org have??

IMO its all about who has what in what area code, thats being unique

stillen is better in terms of looks, uniqueness, durability, fitment, quality and price. its still ur choice but u know that it can shatter and ull instantly get M bumper POWDER

i guess u have never seen the stillen kit in person. its like a piece of plastic, u can twist all u want and nothing is gonna happen to it.
