automatic trans filter

automatic trans filter

Hi all. My wifes 99 auto has reached the 60k mark so i will be doing some service work myself.plugs,oil,fuel filter,do i need to change the trans filter,and if so can i do it myself?the pepboys by me did not have ngk plugs so i bought (bosch platinum 2) plugs,will they be fine anybody use them before?

it doesn't have a filter, theres a screen there when you drop the pan. you can spray it and clean it off wiht brake cleaner. do not use the bosch plugs, use only NGK, strauss carries them and so do autozone i think. thers the copper version which sare BRK5E-11 and then the platinum oems which are PRF-5G-11. and theres another one thats platinum coated which runs $3 a plug ( i dont know the part number for that).

if your goin to put bosch in dont even waste your time changing them. go with with the ngk either platinum or copper.

I'm using Bosch +4 and they run fine.

just curious, how long you been running them for? I work at an auto parts store and it seems that any vehicle other than german runs fine for about 5-10k and then ends up with poor milage/misfire/runs like crap.
