Remove headlights and make plastic covers for them. Remove the heater core, and all stuff associated with that. Remove gas tank and replace with fuel cell in trunk. After all you weight reduction and times at the track. Just through a direct port nitrious kit, and you will be good to go.

well, since every weight counts, take out:
interior Bulbs, floor mats, speaker grills, well you get the point, I'm just talking about the light items here.. but i guess if you add them up, it'll come out to be a pound at most..
oh and don't forget your own weight, lose some if you're overweight.

I suggest grinding off the brackets on the pedals that hold the clutch interlock and cruise control switches. See page 2 of homepage. It is good for a pound if you do the clutch and brake pedal.

Even if you go to TnT, they should still check for safety stuff. (i.e. tires, battery tie down, etc) But every track is different. I've been to some that didn't even check the battery tie down.
And I've been to one track that was WAY stricter than Las Vegas Motor Speedway (nicest track in the nation).... it was Moroso in South FL. They are an NHRA track and it took them about 5-7 minutes just to check my car out. It's a very close to stock Maxima. He even complained about a small crack in my windshield. Oh well, just goes to show that every track is different and it's always the inspectors decision, whether to let you on the track or not. But if you follow that NHRA rule book perfectly, there's not much those inspectors can say.
