Engine dies while stopping at a red light

Maxima 95 has problems with the engine dying while stopping at a red light. It does it ones or twice everyday. I changed the fuel filter, spark plugs, and the air filter is OK. Never had the engine check light on. Changed recently ECU for a used one but it did not help. I put the Chevron fuel system cleaner twice with no progress also.

Would be thankful for any suggestions!

Well I have had the same problem when I put mass air flow sensors on my cai. The air to fuel ratio was way off and my car was not use to sucking in so much air that I would have to keep it running. You could probably take it just to your local dealership or shop. But that could be the problem. I your check engine light on also?

When I had a bad alternator, my car interior lights would dim and the car would die on the red light. I had to change that sucker.
Maybe it'll help

I did not notice that my head lights were dim but the local dealer suggested that the alternator was bad. It runs 13.7 V instead of 14.7 V recommended (by Chilton car manual) when AC and CD are on. I did not beleive in bad alternator because they said that ECU also was faulty, which turned out to be not true. The car also has hard start sometimes too.

I never saw check engine light on.

I'm having what may be a similar problem. I was stalling when trying to go again after a stop. After getting home I tried to see if I could figure ouw what was happening and when I'd stop my headlights would flicker, gauges would dim and then... stall. Happened at 3 lights in a row before I could get on side streets. Sad to see my baby stalled in the road... Been better lately but still has me worried.
