Well today the beast broke the trans finally, weird thing is speedo works/has NO moving gears. So from what I see it seems to be a differential. Very weird anyone ever do this? 2k1 AE LSD is on the way for 610 shipped

 

When my 5 speed died I lost 1st and 2nd gear, but had the rest. I wish I had gotten a 5th gen tranny instead of another 4th gen one. I hear the 5th gen ones are a tad stronger and smoother. Good luck with the install, I'm sure you'll be pleased.

 

i heard on a post because of the pressure plate from the 5th gen tranny it grips a lot better and the clutch is a lot smoother. tell me if im wrong im not sure, doing research right now so when I get back to the states Ill know what to do

 

Yes, the 5th gen PP holds a lot better than the 4th gen PP. I'm not sure if it actually makes it smoother, but it's possible. I wish I had known about it last year when my tranny died.

Tilley- Did you consider the 5 speed tranny off the Altima? I wonder how different it is from the 5th gen tranny. Too bad it doesn't have LSD...

 

where did you find an a/e tranny for 610 shipped? how many miles?

They gave it too me even cheap (being sent to my performance shop so they knocked off the warranty cost) 535 shipped

The 3.5 powered one is the one that broke.
