ECU reset screw not found

I've read the sticky on how to reset the ECU after an error code (check engine light is on). I followed the directions only to find no reset screw behind the tape. Am I missing something? There seems to be a flat plate but no screw slot. It's hard to get down there to see what's going on. Anyone else had this problem? Is there any other way to reset the ECU?

Take off the cover with the two plastic screws, and it should be all the way to the left underneath the tape. It is a flat head screw that turns. I just did mine last week.

I've taken the cover off (by the way it had push rivets and not screws) and broken the tape over where the screw would be. I didn't see anything in the hole ... only what seems to be a flat plate. I'll look again in the daylight.

You have a 99, aren't those different, and located somewhere else, IDK ?

The screw is in there...Only it's white and you have to use a smaller phillips screwdriver to turn it.

Nothing else is different.
Damn I need to get a pic of that.

You have to look hard for the 99s' G-spot...but it's there.
