Final say on 5th gen. pressure plate conversion

My clutch is slipping really badly (couldn't even hold a stock/ks code engine output at 1/2 throttle) and now sits at my mechanic's place. I read JSutter's thread about the 5th gen pressure plate with a lot of interest (chirping tires at 3k is very cool, considering I haven't had that kind of grab in my car since I got it...). Well, I'm getting an estimate tomorrow, and am thinking about doing this mod. However:
I'm having doubts on exactly how much different the pressure plate is...do you guys think that you were used to slipping/weak clutches, so this (the 5th gen pp) feels great (aimed toward guys who did this)? Or do you think there is an actual difference between 4th and 5th gen. OEM? Is there any genuine proof that this grabs better?
Lou

i have the 5th gen PP AND the 5th gen clutch disc. had it done about 3-4 weeks ago and i love it. gripping force is excellent. plus the 5th gen parts are a little bit cheaper than the 4th gen ones so its a win win situation.

f your replacing the clutch, and you are staying N/A there is no reason to use any other clutch than OEM. This pressure plate is better than stock and costs about the same, some say cheaper. I dont see why you wouldnt want it. I have never had the privilage of driving a 4th gen OEM set up new, but this one kicks the doors off my original clutch. It has never worked better. Everything from the stainless line to the Redline MT-90. Its just so much better. Shifts smooth, clutch pedal is so nice feeling, and the thing just grabs and grabs. I have 400 miles on it and yea I have never been so happy to add miles to my car. Get it, you will not be disapointed. I should add that I have driven 2 other maximas with new clutch kits, One was 3rd gen with an ACT stage one, pedal way too hard (felt like my worn out one) and it chattered on every take off. The other is a fellow orger, with an Exedy (oem or stage one) comboed with a lightend flywheel. The pedal was way to soft and didnt give good feed back. I have driven many other manual trannies and no car has felt as nice as mine. And I mean this.

I have a stock clutch with 78k on it and I can spin my tires at around 4k. Isn't it normal?

Is the fifth Gen clutch disc more beefier too then the 4th gen? Do you have the part number?

thanks

Matthel told me that it has a stronger gripping force...it also was like 4 bucks cheaper than the 4th gen one.

i do indeed. here is just a copy and paste from the other 5th gen clutch thread...kinda like a very small positive review.

i got a chance to really give the 5th gen clutch assembly a thorough test last night. i was driving around and found another 4th gen

this thing grips like crazy. yesterday i was having some doubts but last night set me straight. i did a really hard launch on it and. then came the 1-2 shift with a ton of wheel hop and then every shift after that just went really nicely.

you have no idea how nice this is after having that damn key value clutch for 5 months.
