I have a 96 5 spd, with a drop in cone filter. Around 2-3 thousand rpms i hear a humming noise comming out of the exhaust. I think it would be the noise from the intake but im not sure, and dont want it to turn out to be a big problem. It acutally sounds kinda nice but im not sure. once im costing and let off the gas a little it gets quite, but the slightest tap on the gas will start the loud hum.

possible an exhaust leak. check your muff for any rust outs or holes

the muffler is rusting away slowly, could this be it?

it is it, my muffler did the same thing. But its even worse now that i put the pos magnaflow on.

Oh good, I had this hum in the same rpms too, only I have a y-pipe, not sure if that'll make a difference...

So now it's muffler buying time; I was thinking about getting the 5th gen muffler (no performance mufflers for me, thank you), any comments?
