Help....

I got a 96 maxima GLE. When it is cold, it starts up perfectly, but takes about 10 minutes for the heating to come on. Is there a way I can get the heat to come on faster... It starts blowing right away, but its cold air... Please help... Thanks in advance

Does your engine take a while to heat up? Or is it that your heater doesn't kick in enough for you?

If you car takes a good while to heat up, then its your thermostat. If its your heater, then you heater coil is probably going bad.

Its just not warmed up yet. Look at the temp guage. You can turn on the car before you leave. I also turn off the heat until it's warmed up. Don't know if this really speeds things up or not though.

Yeah, A few other people also told me that its my Thermostat. How much does that cost, and is it hard to replace ?
Thanks

Nope not hard to replace. Just follow the top of the radiator tube to the engine. You'll see two bolts. Its right under there. You might spill a little radiator fuild, so have some rags. The part is under 10 bucks.

The car won't spit out warm air until the car warms up. You're only 16, what are you doing driving in NY anyway?

Could always route the exhaust into the cabin for instant warmth.
