Modding Brick Wall

If this is meant for OT, please move.

Before I had a car I wanted to get a Maxima. They've always appealed to me, and being that its four door was a plus as well. Over the years i've learned much about modding, maintenance, etc. I finally modded my car to the extent of what I wanted it at (kit, rims, system, tv, etc.). Now it seems like all of a sudden i fell out of the mod bug...im cured so to speak. Now that I feel content and finished with my project, I want to move onto bigger and better things...(black infinity g35c). Turbo/SC isn't an option, since I'm not much of a speed freak. A lot of money is spent into modding and making our cars the way we want it to look, but anyone else feel the same?

Not for me yet. I've really only started so far, lowering, rims, kit. I find myself in a pickle sometimes because of modding but, it's always nice to take pride in your car though because your car is a reflection of you. If any of this makes sense.

You've "plateued"...modding cars is fun bc u see the car change over time and you have goals to strive for. Once you're happy with where your car is at you move onto other goals (which was the G35c for u).

I know exactly what you mean though. I'm happy with where my car is at, not much of a speed freak either. After I get my RX7 wheels this winter and a few more suspension mods Ill be done.

I'm fairly content with the car as a daily driver (I have another car for fun). I've only really modded in areas where things have worn out or the car is a little weak. For now, I am grateful to have a car like the Maxima in good shape that is fully paid for, so I can think about other priorities. There will always be better cars -- but do I need another car right now to be satisfied and happy? NO!

i guess the only problem u seem to have really is to much extra cash. u can never stop modding because its a way to keep your car different from everyone else. im sure u'll find something else to do to your car since new things are always being made.

two tone leather is the most underated modication EVER. The best thing you can do to a car for looks besides a kit and a paint job, yet few have it and even fewer talk about it. I would much rather get 2 tone than probably a body kit. Its so rare yet so hot. A car is not fully modded in looks unless it has two tone, yea i said it

Q,

I feel you...and TopElement...I'm at the same stage, but I just keep finding new things to add to the max that keep me on my toes...(you know what I mean Q) and re-doing little things like the trunk setup...going to change my rear Valence/bumper...maybe go lower after I get another car...

if you're that pressed you can donate to my maxima fund

my car has been "done" for the past 4years... ive only changed up a few things here and there, removed tints, dash kit, added more LED's than i could count, fiberglass sub box to complete the stereo.

but now over 11g later i wanna get 19's and STILL sell the car!

I'm about done with everything but boost and a BBK and can relate the feeling of contentment with the current state of your car.

DAMN. I wish I had your problem!!! I can't prioritize which mod I should do first! Maybe I'll try some some Cost-Benefit Analysis next (for all you public policy/engineering buffs out there). LOL.

Very very very true, two tone leather makes the car... its like Pimp My Ride.. I hate the show, hate the cars they hook up but damn they're talented with their interiors.

One day when my leather cracks and decides to dissintegrate on me I'll do a little two tone pimp interior.

That's what I am thinking. I did a few little things and was thinking big but then stopped because of fwd. I don't think it makes sense to have 3, 4, 500 hp in a fwd car. When I get the g35c then the tt set up would make sense. Until then I won't waste my money. BTW I am all about go and don't care about show.

see, im all show (some go) and im just learning how to weld and i did my first fiberglass dash, so for me, picking up the newest magazine or going to the next show keeps me going and i will always find something new to do like shave trunk tails, mold the front lip or since im so far into it, get off the flat black paint-primer im in and paint my car this spring and i also need a cardomain page (soon)
its all about what you want to have and i want a fully different, custom 4th gen. if you want speed, thats what the 240 is for. just my 2 cents

and im still learning that maximas can be fast, so there is always those 'speeds' mods too

Im with you nismotic, I personally baught my max because it had the decent performance, nice lines, and an incredible ammount of potential! If i wanted a truelly fast car, i would have baught an mr2, or a 240 sx, and moded the **** out of them, but all i wanted is something that had the best bang for the buck... My car isnt slow, its big, and its comfortable, and i will speak for everyone on this org when i say that all maxes should look like yours Nismotic, it looks soooo right, wow. If you move on to the g35, and sell the max, i will buy your max!!!!!

there's always more to do w/a car but your lifestyle and pocket book will determine what you will do or not do to your car is modding terms....my car shows keep me modding.....I want to win 1st at NOPI so I'm redoing my trunk a custom fiberglass setup and two toning my rear seats then I will maintain my Maxima and get a Mustang as my next "project car" I have over 37 trophies so I have accomplished much w/my Maxiima and I need to move on...modding is never bottomed out in the car you have now until you get another car it starts up again or you "mature" out of the modding lifestyle all together or get bored w/it....no matter the money....

Some days I dont even know why I bother. Then I get on the org and see some really nice cars and ideas. It makes me want to do more stuff. Then I think about the future; money, house, family, ect..... having a fully modded car doesn't make sence at all. Heck it's a daily driver, so whats the point? Sure, I like the additions, bragging rights, and cool/wow factor, but where is that going to get me later in life? Have you ever noticed some of the nicest cars get ruined and end up totaled? I sure dont want to dump $X,xxx amount in on something that one day could be taken away by some incohereint moroon. I haven't even come close to my goal for the car. It's pretty much out of my reach finantually and in some ways it may be better if my car stays the way it is. Maybe I should quit while I'm ahead.......

I feel exactly the same way. I have owned 4 max's and currently own to. I have one That's my baby and another that not so fond of. So i'm selling it and getting a tt 300zx cause I want boost rear wheel drive, and no four cylinder. Max and a z. Perfect combo.

my car will never be done because it'll never be as fast as I want it to be. then again we'll have to see how fast it is on motor after i install the '00 VI and send my ECU back to TS for a little changing.

I am at the same fork in the road that you are faced with nis. I've done everything that I have wanted to with the car and I'm thinking about leaning towards a different direction. Maybe a S4 or something of that caliber. With the exception of the new A6 projectors that I just bought, I think that will probably be it for me. Who knows?
