Got ECU Code, repaired, but CEL came back! HELP!
Got ECU Code, repaired, but CEL came back! HELP!
I got a CEL, pulled the codes and got 0304 (knock sensor) and 1005 (EGRC Solenoid Valve). I replaced the EGRC solenoid valve first to see if the knock sensor code would go away with it.
After the replacement, I cleared the CEL and began driving. I drove for only a few miles when the CEL came back with the same exact codes as before. Correct me if I'm wrong but the knock sensor alone shouldn't cause a CEL. And I replaced the EGRC solenoid valve, so what gives with the CEL???
I'm lost, don't know what the next move should be before I take it to the mechanic. Can anyone advise? Thanks.

The only other code besides the knock sensor is the EGRC solenoid valve which was replaced with a brand new one from the dealership. The CEL should clear but its not and there are no other codes besides these two.
