If it goes below 1,000 rpm after a few minutes of idling, its normal. The car has to warm up thats why it revs itself so high at first.

That 2 = 2000 RPMs

Mine starts up around 1500 and used to go down to ~750, but now it stays around 900. Going to have to mess around with the IACV screw to get it back to 750

So start the engine up and wait a few minutes and check it and see how low it goes? Is that what I should do?

Yep, after the car warms up to operating temperature (when the temp. needle get to the middle), check where it's at

yes, a fast idle speed no higher than 1500-2000rpms is normal on a cold start. But if it doesn't go down as the engine warms up, then something is wrong
