Stillen - cost: $350

Mild Steel .. will not last as long as the Stainless Steel, probably will last for 10 years (are you going to keep your car that long???)

Cattman - cost: $450

Stainless Steel .. beautiful welds.. usually used on car shows for headers.. beautiful pipe... (are you going to be showing people the bottom of your car????)

Warspeed - cost: $315

Stainless Steel... welds look like done in backyard... (who cares.. do you show people the bottom of your car?)

All Pipes perform just about the same.. no big differnece performance wise..

its up to your needs and your budget..

Dam, that cheap? where can i get one at that price and what's the difference between that and the rest?

Also,
I have searched for 10 minutes now

and i can't find what i'm looking for ga dammit, so i'm just going to go out and ask it. I'm not looking for a y-pipe or whatever yaw want to call these things, all I want is my car to make that nice PURR SOUND when driving, not as loud as those Honda's and Acura's but loud enough to show that i'm moving and quiet enough to keep the 2 houses away neighbors asleep....Maxima's are too dag on quiet. Do I have to change the whole muffler? or can i add an extension? what is this running me? Please, if u guys are getting tired of me, atleast give me a head start by showing me a site that'll give me info on what i need...thanks...

I would say, get a y-pipe. It isnt too loud, and it will give you a nice little rumble. Plus, you will get an extra 15 hp in the process. If thats not your bag of tea, a catback exhaust if probably what you are looking for. In case you dont know, Cheston has setup the definative Maxima website. Be sure to buy stickers!

A few people have been saying this lately but dont worry, I talked to Dan via e-mail and Dallas over the phone, they are just completely swamped and are trying to take care of everyone at once. Remember he runs his shop out of his home and doesnt have anyone to help him besides his family. He just switched to a new computer system and said that he has over 200 e-mails to read and catch up on. He is working hard so dont get frusterated with him. I know my buddy couldnt get a hold of them for a week when he was trying to order his. Just dont give up on him he'll come through for you.

Oh and for whoever asked which y-pipe to get it should be obvious what im going to say............www.warpspeedperformance.com Take Care

here's a dumb question

ok, a lot of people like myself are worried that y-pipes may be too loud or not loud enough....if too loud, you can always add an extra exhaust or something to make it louder, but how do you make it more quiet? is there something to make the sound more gentle?

*expects a BIG NO*

A resonator. Ask your local mufler shop about it. They can install it for you and tune it down to a sound you like.

The only concern about budget exhausts that I've heard is there winter durability. I havent seen any problem posts so far, so I assume things are going fine. And I find it hard to believe that Warpspeed look like they were made in a backyard. If you go to their website at warpspeedperformance.com, they brag about how reliable and wonderful their welding is (no "butt" welds) and I wouldnt doubt them for a second. If you've got 300, get the Warpspeed, its the best quality for your money. If you seriously cannot scrap together 300 and 200 is your budget, then budget y pipe is your suitor. Stillen aka stealin overprices their y-pipe for the quality you're getting and i've heard of the infamous bees in a can sound. cattman's quality compares equally to warpspeed's, but you're paying 100-200 bucks more for cattman's product. By the way, 315 is the best top-of-the-line product from Warpspeed; they also sell aluminized ypipes for cheaper prices...i think the lowest was in the 175 range.

to the guy who wants a quieter ride, try the apexi catback or keep the stock muffler on with your new exhaust. the catalytic converter, as mentioned, also quiets the ride down. and just a note, a really nice sound is the Place Racing CAI. it gives a nice deep noise at wot if you're interested in that. good luck.

WSP stuff

I talked to Dallas tonight re the CAIs. They are currently being powder coated. We are able to keep low prices by not pressuring the company to run our relativly small batch stat, but wait for them to run a particular color. This way they do it for less and we pass on the savings to you. Hopefully buy the end of the week.
BTW, above poster is correct. Sprintmax obviously hasn't seen a pipe welded by either Spike or Dallas. I admit some of our first pipes had rather crude looking welds, that is not the case now.
We feel out 4 year rust through warrently makes them the best deal out there. $195 for our non mandrel bent aluminized version, with a lined flex, lazer cut flanges, custom plenum, and bent by our machine with new dies. Many people can't even tell that this version is crimp bent.Sorry for rambling on.

A big thanks to all who support us.
