The rears are direct replacements, and don't require any modifications. . . As for the fronts, you take the clip on top of the strut off, and then saw through the metal to remove the inside of the stock strut. YOu then drill a hole in the bottom of the casing and use the supplied bolt to pull the Koni insert all the way in.
As for how long they last, supposedly they will last for the life of the car because you can always adjust the damping, but that is probably just wishful thinking. . . I don't think anyone has really found out yet.
Also, during the install of mine, one of the front ones was defective, when properly torquing the top down, the threads cracked and it killed the strut. . . I got a replacement in 2 days replaced for free. . . I was just glad Matthel, Turbo95Max, was installing mine and had an extra front strut to loan me. . .

Man this is looking like it's a pain in the butt.....I'm sure it's worth it though. thanks for the great write up

Cutting bumpstop
Look at the pic on step 22. Starting from the right, we cut the first small notch. So starting from the right, there's the first big notch, and then the second. So we cut the second. We also cut one notch out on the rear too. It was not recommended in the Koni instructions, but I would think Koni assumes that you are not lowering the vehicle at the same time.
