You guys are idiots. Just help the guy.

For real I think it's only about 6-7 hp with a custom shop 2.5 inch piping. It may be a little different, but this is what I can remember from motorvate.ca when it was up and running. I was thinking about doing a catback, but I ended up deciding against it because of the trade-off of power vs. $$$ and loudness of exhaust.

Intake depends on what kind. The short ram will take out torque while a cold intake will take out hp. you should get no more than 5-8 with an intake, and that 5-8 will vary in where on the curve it is. ( dyno proven- and after three cars, I should know) The y pipe is the best bang for the buck at adding around 15-20 hp. as for the exhaust, well, just a muffler won't get you jack, if you increase the size of the pipe, you might see up to 10. If you just replace it with aftermarket with close to the same diameter, you won't see/feel any difference. I have not changed my exhaust after the y pipe, because for the money, you don't get that good of gains. If you want Bling, change the muffler to a better one-outlet unit. if you want power, save up for the MEVI or the ECU.

Getitng down to the math, a good intake+ y pipe+ bigger cat back &muffler= 40 hp (a good estimate)

No, I stand by my original statement.

Here, I'll educate you. DIFFERENCE means the hp from y-pipe, intake, exhaust MINUS hp from just the y-pipe and intake alone.

This equals about 6-7 hp, not 45. If it gave 45 as a difference, I'd buy an exhaust system in a heartbeat, but it's not, so I won't.

See? Idiots.

No, you see, I was calling people idiots because they weren't offering real help, which is one thing I dislike about this site (though there are many things I DO like). People ask straightforward questions and get sarcastic, screwed up answers.

I just try and help the person who asked the question and it's starting to get to me when people keep coming back with all these stupid helpless statements. Not to say everyone hasn't been helpful on this thread though.

Sorry I just needed to rant.

Okay, I nominate you to answer all the newbie questions. hehe.

I guess when you ask a question that's been answered numerous times before and can probably be found in the stickies or faqs, then I guess that person deserves a bit of ribbing. Especially when it looks like that person would rather spend 30 sec typing a new post vs 20 min actually researching/looking for the information. But I guess if you are willing to entertain the same question over, over, over, over, over and over again, be my guest.

Damn guys, one simple answer is good enough for me. i had a warpspeed ypipe, and greedy catback with intake. i ended up trading my whole ypipe and catback for a stock set up since i was going to sell my car, but now i have decided to keep the car instead.

i still have my stillen intake, but i was thinking about getting a ypipe again and not the catback exhaust. i did not know what the power difference is since i got the ypipe and the catback together, so it was just a simple answer for someone to help me out.

thanx slackr237 for helping me out, but some of you guys are idiots.
why cant i just ask a simple question? geez...........if you dont want to help, then dont post.
some people just makes it a bigger deal than it is.
