Gas smell in car when heater is on... No exhaust leaks

Now getting gas smell in car only when you turn the heater on. Has anyone else had this problem. Is there a charcoal filter or anything that needs replacing?

I was thinking it was my y-pipe. Maybe I didnt put in my crush gasket in correctly making a little leak in the exhaust. But I dont know maybe someone else does.

I Had the same problem. Drove me nuts for weeks. Turned out to be a split O-ring in the top of the gas tank(Fuel pump access cover). Mine would get real bad after filling the tank. Other things to look at would be your fuel filter and gas lines. I don't think a leaky exhaust would cause a gas smell unless your engine is running really bad.

I just had this happen and found the rubber fuel hoses near the fuel rail leaking at start up. check this at first start up of the day. at 1st I tried just to tighten the clamps but it came back, so I got some 5/16 FI hose and some new clamps and replaced the ones leaking. so far ,so good.

Yea it only happens when it is cold and I have the heater or defroster on. otherwise, it is fine. This is on a 95'. i'm thinking charcoal filter or something maybe be clogged. It is not a exhaust leak but seems to be blowing in thru the heater.
