KS removal / Resistor Swap... how to?

Anyone know how to do the KS resistor mod exactly? I know it takes a 470k ohm resistor, although not sure how to hook it up. Also anyone who's done this recommend or not recommend it? I'm slightly worried about pinging although i've never had a prob. with it (i think) and i plan on using nothing but high octane just in case. Whats the general consensus? I'm just tired of buying KS's i've already bought like 4 of them on my two maxes. And yes i'm getting the 3/4 code.

just take the KS subconnector and plug each end into the terminals of the plug going to the ECU. Tape it up really well with some electrical tape and reset the ECU. Drive around for a bit and see how it feels. I didn't notice any difference when i did it and i didn't notice anything when i put the new KS in. Just make sure that with the resistor in that you listen for knocking or pinging during warm days because the resistor won't trigger the ECU to go into safe mode if it detects pinging.

So i take both ends of the resistor and i plug them into the two cables that plug into the knock sensor? Do i have to cut the plug connector off (the one that the ks would normally go into?) or should i just use the prongs inside the connector? Oh and if u needed a knock sensor, and u replaced it (with this mod) and didn't feel any difference, you probably forgot that u need to reset your ecu, its still in safe mode.

the KS subconnector plug is located up by the the TB i think, it's a green plug that leads down to your KS. You just take each end of the resistor and plug it into the two prongs on the lead going back to the ecu. And yes, i did reset my ecu after putting the resistor in and after putting the new KS in and i didn't notice a difference. not everyone notices a difference when they replace the KS.
