new headligt bulb time!

well one of my headlight bulbs is gone so now would be a good time to get some fake HID-looking bulbs. I know its a dumb, but any suggestions for what kind and where to get them?
thanks

Same thing happened here.

I got some silverstars. Same output as stock (imo), and they are whiter and have a greenish and purple tint. For $35, not too bad... I've had PIAA's and other bulbs that sucked bigtime.

I second the 9007 conversion. Upgrade the harness and you can use over-wattage bulbs w/o melting or burning anything. You'd get a brighter headlight output.

I have Nokya bulbs in my max and have yet to find any other bulbs that are more Euro looking. I have the stage II ones...100 watt lowbeam, 120 watt highbeam. You'll need to upgrade your harnesses as well...I went through Sport Compact Only who were very helpful. If only I could get the other lights in my max working! I have a thread on my prob if any of you want to help...it's titled something like "fogs and side markers not working". Thanks and goodluck!

if target still sold blue headlights they would be the ones to get. try euro lite (tucan industries). they have a decent line of bulbs at fairly low prices. But rice blue?.......

i got silverstars, and you can't been them for the money. I definitely recommend them. However, the H3 silverstars suck ***, they'll maybe last a month if you're lucky.

im not sure what the specifics of the kit are yet, im still waiting on it, im getting it from a fellow .org memeber and being the great guy that he is, hes hooking me up with a badas$ deal on it.

nismotic, you think 6000K will be good? i was thinking a bit higher just cause i like a little bit of blue, with the HID's im gonna get alot more light than stock, so i can compramise a little light output for a little more blue

maximagle1, got any pics of you 8000K setup?

I've been trying to get myself out there and take some pics but I have been lagging.

I'll drop by my friends house tomorrow and take some pictures. Than post them for those who are interested.

I second 9007 conversion with nokya stage II white bulbs. The price of the upgrade was like 37 shipped and that comes iwth bulbs and harness. The light output and colors are great.

HIDs=$200+. 9007 Convertion with Sylvania Xtravisions=$17. My headlights put out more than enough light. My low beams (after having aimed them down!) reach out just as far as my 9004 Hibeam did. That shold give you an idea of what to expect.

My vote goes to 9007 or HID. Silverstars have poor lifespan, but look nice. Only worth it if you don't mind spending about $100 per year on heads and fogs.

Why hasn't anyone done a sticky on bulbs yet? I couldn't count how many times I've seen this same question asked.....

The 6000k kit is a badasss setup for the Phillips kit. It has a slight hint of blue at startup, but turns pure white with about 10% tint of blue. On the road, your visibility is great and it is not noticeable to other ppl, such as cops. anything above 6000k has pretty poor light output (i did a lot of research on it, and couldn't decide between 4300k and 6000k)

Mine is the Arctic White Stage II Nokias but 9007 ones. It's outlasted all of the PIAA's that I've ever had.

I have silverstars.. I know of people that have had them blow out in just a matter of weeks.. I havent had a problem.. but understand our stupid lighting is only a 9004 which emitts a terrible beam pattern.
