I have a 96 and I just recently purchased Polarg 1157s for my corner lights next to the headlights. When they are on, they are a bit dim so I played around with the bulb and put it in backwards so that only one of the two nodes on the bottom of the bulb touch their corresponding node. This results in both filaments lighting up giving me a much brighter light that looks really good.

Im wondering if this is going to give me problems.

By the way these are the 21w 1157s and not the 25w ones.

Thanks

i did something like this

i switched the wires going to my corner lamps. no problems other than blowing the first lights (dont try tinfoil) so far so good, i had blue bulbs and they burnt out fairly quick, cant say whether or not they died b/c of bulb quality or b/c of switcihng the wires.

Hook sharpener

A friend of mine had a hook sharpener and we sanded off one of the nodes on the bulb (the one that is higher). (There are two: a low one and a high one)

Then you can insert the bulb so that the higher node can be inserted to the other slot and turn to lock the bulb into the socket.

What exactly did you try with tin foil?

Thanks. I remember reading something here awhile ago, it involved using tin foil so that both filaments would have a current running through it. I tried that out and then the fuse went.

Node on the side of the bulb

I just wanted to clarify i was talking about the spring nodes on the side of the bulb, not the bottom nodes that make contact with the socket.

Yup, I've tired cutting the little nudge on the side of the bulb(top one too), on the stock bulb that is, and it didn't work, maybe I'll give it another shot. Thanx again.
