Trailer hitch?
My 96 can pull a 14 footer, I've never put one in the water with it. I don't want my car in a lake. I fear that submerging the rear might let water in and don't know how fwd will handle the wet ramp. Steeper ramp = less traction, less grade = more submersion. I also pull dirtbikes on a 5x8 utility regularly for the past year with no trouble.
I was towing 3500 lbs for about 4000 miles in combined milege. What can i say i blew my rear shocks, it was in the summer. Then in the winter i did couple of spins on rear gear and burned the trainy. 4 other guys which did not tow anything on their max did more rear spins then i and their traynys are good. So i guess you will definatelly kill some years from your car. Suggested max towing for 97 max and i guess for 99 too is 1000lbs.
