UPDATE** NEED HELP Well, Checked the Codes for the First Time

PLEASE HELP... Check engine light back on again. Do y'all think I didnt put the connectors on properly or something? IT sucks that I now have a car that runs significanlty better after doing routine maintenance and the damn CEL stays on. Any help wpuld be appreciated. TIA, Marty

1302 MAP sensor
0302 EGR either too much flow through or not enough
0304 the ole' knock sensor

Car is a 1996 SE 5spd with 116000, after cleaning the IAC, TB, replacing the airfilter, it sure runs noticeably better. I noticed part of my airbox is gone (the lower airbox?) There is a 2"x3" rectangular hole in the lower left (side facing TB and engine) where something used to connect to the airbox. IS this the "poor mans" hacked up box? Might be why I am getting the 1302 code, the MAP sensor used to attach to it, I think? Would it possible to not have a MAP sensor anymore?

Anyway, the knock sensor is on the way, got it for $89 on Ebay. The car runs a lot better now that I did the aforementioned maintenance, I recommend it, all was fairly easy, thanks to directions found on this site. Curious as to what the new knock sensor will accomplish, might not notice a difference but I hope it is worth the price. Have had the car for about 2 weeks, so far so good. Runs great, accept the rattles and squeaks, pretty good bang for the buck, esp. in performance.

Thanks, Marty

i believe this manual will help with all your problems:

http://members.dslextreme.com/users/...esm/a32-ec.pdf

page 322 for MAP sensor

As for the EGR check this page :

My problem was resolved by replacing EGRC solenoid valve

Thanks Knight71!

I will use the resources you have provided! I was just out in the parking lot and I think I fixed the EGR, one of the vacuum hoses got knocked off while doing the maintenance yesterday. That code (0302) no longer shows up. Hopefully I can figure out the MAP solenoid valve problem. Thanks again.
