While driving, the car sputters and shuts completely off usually when I am slowing down and then begin to speed back up. Already tried changing plugs and belts. Does anyone out there have any idea's for me? I would appreciate it greatly. thanks dan.

That has happend to me too! And my Nissan told me they never heard of that happening. I was told they couldnt pinpoint the problem until it happens again and I'm not suppose to put my car back in park and restart I'm suppose to just leave it and tow the car. Whatever! LOL It's happend 3 times to me. 2 times on a little below a quarter tank which made me think it had something to do with the fuel filter or fuel getting to the engine. But the last time it happend was on above a half tank of gas. Always when I am slowing down. It hasnt happend to me in about 2 months knock on wood.

 

Your descrition is too vague to diagnose the problem. I had sort of similar symptoms and it turned out I needed a new exhaust. Good luck and if you want more help, please give details regarding the condition of your car and the symptoms...
