Hey guys and gals, I'm new to the forum, so I don't know if its been asked before or somebody has had the same prob. My car either won't start or starts very hard. If i crank it over enough SOMETIMES it will go. Most of the time I'm SOL so I'm stuck driving a p.o.s. When i crank it over the engine turns and i usually here a clunk noise when the motor sounds like it wants to fire. It doesn't start, when it seems it should. It seems like it is just on the verge of starting but can't quite get there. Its like there either isn't enough spark or fuel.. not sure which one. I checked codes, I don't remember the numbers and don't have them on hand but I had a knock sensor, and 3 different EVAC control pugre (cannister or control) codes according the Haynes manual. The fuel pump runs.. though there is no saying that isn't the prob i suppose. Anyway is there anything here that would cause the start up probs? Is there anything else i should be looking at? Sounds like you have all sorts of issues. My guess is your starter is shot without knowing a bunch more information.
