The intake question to end all intake questions...

Ok there is a lot of back and forth here on the answer for this questions. So I will frame it for my needs and thats it.

I have a drop in K&N filter if I switch to the K&N cone filter and adapter is this the best way to aviod any loss in power? Will there be any gain of power in low, mid, or high compared to the drop in?

A simple two word answer is fine if possible(ec. yes, yes)

honestly i see more power coming form an open filter over a sealed box... just my opinion...

btw, intake questions will never end... what a fantasy world you live in...

Any 'gains' you feel will be completely wallet- and mind-related..... it's hard for someone to spend money on a mod and not have it make a difference so too many people imagine they feel something when really they're equating more noise with more power.

I suggest you read the stickies and do a search. BTW, I have seen the thread that supposedly should end all intake questions a year ago and I can't even count how many pages it has. But here's something to give you an idea, I'm switching out of my current setup back to stock. I have a MAF adapter and K&N filter. I'll probably sell it on eBay.

Midpipes and short rams actually make you lose power. You might as well stick to your stock format.

How is this wrong? I have heard this from MANY people. Stock seams to provide the best gains, the only improvement would be to go CAI like Place Racing or Hacking your stock air box.
