throttle cleaning help/problem
Ok i have a problem....i have a 96 max, ok after reading almost all these threads ...i decieded to clean the throttle so i took off everything including the 2 plugs that connect to the throttle......ok i bough a can for about 5 bucks call gunk out for the throttle......so after i took of the throttle the directions say..."turn car on open butterfly flop and spray for 10 seconds..then wait 10 seconds i did that until the can was empty...now i the service engine sign went on....i got 2 codes and they were the plugs i pulled out ......after driving it for a day i got the sign back with the code 0705 EVAP...i loosed everything and then fit it back together 2 days after same code.....(yes i was not getting better gas mileage) the sign took longer to come the second time. and then it took longer to come the 3rd time.....Y does it come back? please help! is there anything i can do ....could it be i still got some "gunk out stuck in there"? please help
wow...that does not sound like the directions that can be found on motorvate.ca. Were those the directions off of the throttle body cleaner? It doesn't sound like a good idea to run the car while cleaning, unless I'm misunderstanding what you're trying to say. Anyways, I don't know, but look at motorvate.ca to confirm if you did infact do everything right. Did you really run your car while doing this?
hmmm... couldnt have been good to be spraying something into the intake while the cars running. I never heard of this gunk out stuff.. just get some simple CARB/CHOKE cleaner or THROTTLE BODY CLEANER. Keep car off, spray some on it in there and whipe it clean!! its easy... i cant help you with the code though. Someone else will be able to.
there are somethings that recomend for the engine to be running (ex: sea foam) and im pretty sure you spark plugs went to crap because of the gunk your engine was burning up. those are my 2 cents
