Opinions and Advice Needed for Wheels

I have a 1995 Maxima that I am about to completely modify. First up, I am going to lower the car about 1.5 in. in the front 1 in. in the rear with eibach springs. Would that be sufficient for 18" wheels? Are there any surprises I should know about before I put these springs on; any other parts needed? Second, I want BLACK wheels with a chrome lip. Any recommended websites would be greatly appreciated. Also, how wide can I make my wheels without affecting my turning radius (or spreading in the fender)? In addtion, if I get spacers and fender flares (on ebay if anyone is interested in where I plan to get these from) will I be able to increase the width of my wheels?

You can put an 8.5 wide wheel on and be lowered without any other modification, I'm pretty sure people have even went to 9"s without problems. Unless you like to auto-x, anything wider is pretty much pointless... 18x8.5 is a nice size though. Oh, and please do not put fender flares on your car. I'd check out tirerack.com for the wheels. I'd read a little more about the springs, you'll need to replace the stock shocks and struts with something stiffer to handle the higher spring rate. Eibach are known to be pretty harsh, and they still leave a pretty big wheel gap, if you have the money go with some real coilovers, not the sleeve type.

Thanks man, that helps out a lot. You probably right, 8.5 is plenty of tread, and I was going to use the flares as last resort. But 8.5 will work out perfect. Does anyone what the "offset" of a wheel measures?
