A couple days ago, I installed a brand new WSP Y-Pipe in my 96 Maxima. The morning after I installed it, I started up my car and immediately heard a rattling/creaking sound coming from under the around the center console area which is where the Y-Pipe would be. The noise acts up everytime I accelerate, but once my car warms up, it goes away. That day, I jacked up my car and re-tightened every bolt in the hope that it would solve the problem, but it didnt. Anyone have any clue what it could be and how I could fix it?

Give the Dave B mod a shot, see what that does...

I have a similar problem; I get a buzzing noise in my WSP Y-pipe in the 2k to 3k rpms only after everythings warmed up in my max. Weird.

 

Check to see if the pipe is hitting against the crossmember just in case you do not share the same problem as Dave B.

 

Like ^ he said check the cross bar. Maybe a heat shield or gasket.
