A really bad problem at startup
A really bad problem at startup
Whenever I go to start up my car, there's a problem. It wont. To have even a chance of starting my car you must crank and hold for a few seconds, and if that doesnt work you must repeat several times until it does. When i crank no sounds at all. Normal battery functions operate properly (i.e. radio, beeping if a door is open, etc.) but no sounds of turning over, no whine from the starter motor, nothing. I've consulted with a few others and one person mentioned they had a similar problem and suggested replacing the electrical portion of the ignition (PART#48750-1E411). If that is the problem can anyone refer me to a place where they sell it? And i'd like to know the estimated cost of it. (1996 GXE, just under 120,000 miles, no other mechanical problems, no attempts of forced induction, ECU manipulation, no tuning of anykind.)
Yea I replaced the starter... dont worry atleast your still not as bad as me...
CEL is still on for my rear 02 and knock sensor and map sensor... even though I changed all 3 02's as well as my knock sensor...

Theres 2 crank sensors, one on the bell housing where the transmission and engine meet. Theres another one under the crank pulley.
The cam sensor is located on the timing chain cover on the passengers side of the engine to the right of the side motor mount.
Get a Haynes manual.. it will be worth its weight in gold...
