I'm sure it could have been a lot worse. What if it was a blowout on the highway during the rain? Don't think you'd be lucky enough to post about it anytime soon.

you obviously never experienced the 3rd gen window short out. whenever my driver side window would get wet the window would continuosly roll itself down. the first time it happend was in the car wash...

gsmith795.....that makes me laugh....back when I had my '92 the drivers' side window did the same thing. It would go all the way down and then not go back up. Only it happened to me in a heavy storm, not a car wash. Pretty funny though, ahh the good old days....

Good for you. It doesn't appear that you face any serious adversity in your life (at the moment).

I may have you beat. As we know if you hold down the open door lock on 4th gen's it rolls your windows down. So I was inside my apt, and let you know we were having a snow storm so why go outside. Well I must have leaned on my keys in the exact position so my windows were fully down up front for the entire night. Nothing like coming to your car to go to work pissed about having to clean off snow then realizing your windows were down....

try having your tranny die on you 60 miles from your house in some hick town and not ebign able to move it out of the middle of the highway because the car has locked itself in gear. then also have to try n walk about 10 miles to an ex-gf house so that you can spend the night until u can wake up in the morning to pay a tow guy 300 bucks to tow your broken car back to your town. then pay another 800 in labor, plus 750 for a new tranny, plus 200 for the clutch and on top of all of that. still have to take the train to school and work.

that was one of my good days with since i have owned my maxima. a blown tire sounds like fun to me.

That's nothing. 2 weeks ago, I had to change a tire on the coldest day since 1982 up here in Canada. I believe it was -47 degrees F, -44 Celcius. Brand new winter tires, I forgot to put the cap on when blowing it up and the valve froze while driving. Fastest tire change ever.

Worst day ever because of a flat in the cold ....

At least you don't have a broken neck and a smashed up car.

Then the post wasn't directed at you.
Damn, that accident is heavy stuff. I wish you a full and speedy recovery.
It wasn't me...it was the thread I read just before this one and it struck a nerve that changing a tire in the rain was the "worst thing that's ever happened" to him.

I broke my throwout bearing a while back, had to drive home without the aid of the clutch. Couldn't stop or the car would stall. Got a push then jammed it in gear. My other car was a delSol and I have two kids to transport so I had to spend the night ripping out the tranny by my self. But I've had worse. Tires go flat all the time. I can't even count the ones I've had to change. Ever have a car fall off the jack after you get the tire off.

sounds like someone who lives a perfect life. Try changing a tire on the side of an INterstate, then have the car not start, wait for 7 hours for AAA, then have them tell you they can't start and you have to wait for a towtruck. ONce the tow truck arrives THEY lock your keys in your car somehow and you then have to wait for a locksmith....this all at 10 below in a snow storm. Been THERE done that.
