so i just got my new y pipe today and plan on getting it installed tomm. im gonna get it welded on and i was wandering if that cost any extra than just getting it bolted on. i would get a ypipe inst. kit with the gaskets, etc... but i know how long it take custom max to send stuff out :/ thanks

amen to that, i'm so sick of people who average like 5 posts a day or more and act like they are maxima guru's who know everything about the car and never give out advice unless its a question that only about 5% of people on the org would be able to answer

i welded mine on and i did regret it my flexpipe burnt through and the shop had to go through so much pain and the weld werent all that great so it used to whistle like a turbo under accel.. the gaskets are like 3-5 $ go with that

and none of us are maxima guru's we cant go through everything that can happend to a maxima so everyone knows a little thats how we help each other sarcasm is useles
usually all the "pro's" around here never did a thing on their car and think they know everything !!!
good luck with that pipe and bolts, you can get them at pepboys

So you are mad that the people that have been here a long time and know what they are talking about actually answer questions about difficult problems? Makes alot of sense

anything Ive ordered from them has taken 3 days. Just because some people have had problems with them doesnt mean that every order takes a month

you're probably about to get banned. you do need to stop acting like a complete jacka$$ though, you're 17, you don't know ****.

take the pipe to a shop and have them install it. you may need to torch some bolts on the cat depending on their condition. ypipes bolt on, not weld on, if you didn't know that then you need to watch someone else do it first then try to do it on your own some other time.

Thats because the God Damn answer is right there. Answers to questions that are located a few threads down...some answered directly in the stickies...and for a few bucks donated, you get to use the search function too!

We dont flame every teen noob that jumps on the site; its the ones that complain and moan about it instead of looking around for it first that pisses ppl off

...and a double : for the tiburon comment.

Dude...so what if they called you inexperienced...you said it yourself, you are inexperienced....its the truth. Plain and simple. everyone has their own OPINION, and if you dont agree with them, then thats fine cuz you have YOUR own opinion, why are you taking it personal? like everyone said. this is the INTERNET...

I want to know what shop thinks welding the y-pipe on is a good idea, first of all.

This question is like asking if you should polish your car with brake fluid.

i would suggest you get your hands on a FSM for your car... it's the bible to your car and it'll make you less inexperienced and help you ask the right questions.

and don't take it so personally... like everyone else said... we all gotta start somewhere... i'd keep the max tho :/
