Resonator?

Resonator?
I had a Magnaflow 14827 Muffler put on today. Everything else is stock. The sound is good but i want a little louder. Should i remove the resonator?
What is the purpose of getting new pipes from the cat back? From what ive read people say use 2.25". Ive already got 2.25"(stock) so why should i pay for new pipes.
I know i need a Y-pipe but that will have to wait until spring.
Thanks guys

Removal of the resonator will cause your exhaust note to be raspy. The purpose of an aftermarket b-pipe is to provided freer flow than stock. If you look at your stock unit, it's crush-bent and 2.25" in diameter. When boosting 9psi or more, you'll want to upgrade to 3" to accomodate the additional gas production.

Get y pipe and 2.5" b pipe. I will tell you right now that a magnaflow without resonator is LOUD and raspy. My friend had that with no cat and it sounded horrible. If you want a really loud civic exhaust then get non resonated, but especially with a magnaflow get a resonator if you want a more refined exhaust. A more freely flowing exhaust will make that muffler louder believe me. With that you may say it is too loud but it will make the car alot faster than any muffler will.

I had the res takin out of my car. I have an ebay exhaust ( ya i know) but it's not raspy at all and its loud as hell. I want louder tho. I am goin tomorrow to see about puttin duals on with a flowmaster. I say try it and find out if u dont like it put it back on. Good luck...
