What could be that bad?
It's a long story but ill try to keep it breif i bought my max back in late october early november and it was nice 99 SE-L and it was running good but 1-2 weeks later it started to have rough idle @ stop signs and some hesitation when accelerating and i didnt bring it in till a few weeks later and the dealer where i bought it from didnt know what to do so they brought it to a near by nissan dealer and they said they fixed it but i think they just reset the ECU because a few days later i noticed it was back and i thought it might just be me because it didnt happen every time i stopped then (as i read on the forums) days later the CEL came on.. so i thought hey i have coils so i brought it back and they said theyd look @ it then after about 3 days of "keeping it overnight" they said they would have to bring it to nissan but to bring it after the new year...
Ok so after the new year they said wait a week because were busy this week so my mom became fed up and decided to bring it herself and now the nissan dealer is stumped and i think there going to replace the ECU because my mom says they think its computer problems and their going to replace it if they have one but now they think it something else too and they need to keep it over the weekend because they are closed sunday and they said saturdays they mainly do oil changes because they are busy... since my mom is a poor medium for these conversations because she has no idea about cars i dunno what their doing she said she asked if it was "normal" problems and they said they have never seen this before and they need to call the nissan tech line on monday
What could be wrong? are the guys im dealing with just unexperienced?

Try to find your ECU http://forums.maxima.org/showthread.php?t=363154
Then do the diagnosis yourself
ME thinks its the dreaded coilpacks since you have a 99

Sounds like coil packs too... and AFTER you get the codes, use this thread

Remember, long pulse is the first number, short pulse is the second.. for ex. 0304 is the knock sensor, so you'll get 3 long pulses and 4 quick ones... if you have more than one code, it keeps going and repeats them over and over until you reset it.

thing is i dont have my car and they probably cleared the codes already and im gunna get the dealer to pay for whatever is wrong with it because it was within the 90 days that i had but they pushed me off so they should pay and if i had gotten the codes and changed the packs myself then they wouldnt have paid for that

well... i was under warrenty for the used dealer i bought the car from but they kept putting me off until we decided to take it into our own hands and the dealer will probably end up paying for all or most of it if not we can get the BBB into this

New ECU. . .
I had that problem too, mine would cut out at about 6500 RPM, couldn't figure it out for the life of me, so I sent it out and got a new one that's all better now, 7200 RPM.
