I have a 1997 Nissan Maxima GLE and the Speedometer and Odometer intermittently won't work at times. Anyone had this problem before? Is it the cluster or the speed sensor? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

 

It usually is the speedometer head that needs to be replaced. I had to replace the ones on my 3rd and 4th gen. Maximas. It's hard to diagnose an intermittant problem, but I have found the Vehicle Speed Sensor to be more reliable than the Speedo Head. Have a technician you trust diagnose it for you.
