I have PIAA crystal ion h3 bulbs. It's yellow alright, but not Lexus style yellow. They are very bright IMO, I can drive with JUST the fogs and see very well.

couple pics:

you need to buy the yellow tint film to put over your foglight housings, that's the only way to get it "lexus yellow". That plus a nice pair of yellow bulbs like the piaa's or narva's.

I just purchased these Lexus yellow capsules from Hidtech.com and just finished installing them in my foglights. I will have pictures of my 02 max with these posted tommorow because in order to install these you have to open the foglight housing and reseal it when you are done. I just resealed mine so I have to wait till they dry to install on my car. Will have pics tommorow but here is a sample picture of this product on a prelude.
The ones that you are referring to are the yellow capsules that AKOGAN installed on his 5th gen. Those capsules actually need to be installed into the fog light housings, and not just on the bulbs themselves. This is more difficult and requires you to open the actual housings to install, and then resealing the housing. The outcome is awesome and totally worth it in my opinion.

Those are the 9006 capsules which hidtech recommended over h3 capsules.

Tinting would be the easy way to go, but may not look as nice because your housings will always be yellow, even in the daytime. It all depends on your tastes.

How can you install them into the actual housings? What would they be attached to?

Nokya Hyper Yellow H3. They run at 2500k and are very yellow.

This is my car, but it looks much more yellow in person

EDIT: Here is another pic I found that actually does justice:

5th gen fogs are very different from 4th gen fogs. I'm considering doing this but I'm not sure the 9006 Hidtech capsule will fit inside the stock grey 4th-gen capsule. Have any other 4th gen owners done this?

I've already got one of mine opened up (for another reason), that's the easy part.

Ha, I wish! Whatever happened with the Orger from Rhode Island who was putting OEM HIDs in his stock 97-99 fogs???

No, the reason mine is opened is because the glass was broken (came like that when I bought the car last year). I bought a replacement used fog off eBay but the housing of that one was broken, so I'm swapping the glass only.

The lexus cars use projectors to achieve that crucially bright yellow. With our doing that mod, you'll never get them like that!
