Trans question - need advice
I Have a 1997 SE with about 140K on it. The automatic trans has been doing this thing for the past few months where when you are taking off from a stopped position it will move, but you can tell something is slipping (like you hear the RPMs go up a bit but you are barely moving) then it will kick in. It doesn't do it all the time, and I've become used to it so when I "feel" it happening I lightly let off the gas to give it a chance to kick in then I press the pedal again and it's OK.
Seems like no probs in any other gears. Just from the start.
Also, if anyone has tips on film tint removal that would be great. My other thread was shut down due to some of my remarks. I respects cops, and as a matter of fact contacted one of them moments after I got the ticket-- they told me he could have just given me a warning card, and that it is NOT a law in PA, it's up to the officers discretion. There is nothing in the PA state inspection, etc. saying there is a rule on tint density.
Thank all

On the first and more important question-- I was wondering if this might be a clutch issue or possibly a more expensive problem (transmission repair needed). thanks for any advice. I don't want to start a big discussion on PA window tinting. PA is one of those whacked states that doesn't have a law that specifies a percent so it really comes down to the officer making a judgement if they feel they can see in the vehicle OK through the windshield and side windows. I'm more concerned about my trans... I'm hoping it might be something not so expensive to fix. On my Gen3 I wound up needing a trans and that hurt the pocketbook pretty bad at about $1,600 I think it was. I'm sure they aren't cheaper for the 4th Gens!
