Break problem??

I was driving on the AC expressway today. I got off and stopped at a light. When i went into first gear i heard this loud vibrating sound and the car was starting to have resistance. Im not sure if the breaks got stuck or if they could be shot. I tried driving about a half hour after parking and the problem seemed to be gone. Anyone have an idea??
