dunno if its gonna fit but if it does then the tip will be hidden cuz the 96 bumper is shorter.

it will be shorter because of where the O2 sensor is on the b pipe sure itll fit but a lil customness will be needed, nothing to bad though

It will fit but the o2 sensor on a 97 max sits on tha b-pipe and the 96 b-pipe has no inlet for an o2 sensor cuase the o2 sensor on a 96 max goes on the catalytic, and on top of that the 97 rear bumper is 1/2 an inch longer than the 96 rear bumper so it will tuck well under the bumper and the heat may cuase melting(to the rear bumper). So you might be better of lookin for another 97-99 exhaust. Hope I could help.

SP or SP2?

The 95-96 SP2 actually fits better on 97-99 and has the O2 plug for them.

You would probably have to cut the o2 sensoer off and then your check engine light would come on. The o2 sensor doesnt really affect performance but yor check engine light will be on and that sucks. Then theres the length issue, its more than likley the exhuast will tuck under your rear bumper witch will cuase the bumper to melt. I know this from experiance I was runnin a 95-96 Apexi WS cat-back (wicth I bought cuase the store I got from claimed it was for 95-99 maxima's) exhuast on my old 97 max and it pretty much melted my rear bumper. Thats what forced me to get a new GreddySP. So now I have a brand new 600$ exhuast that I only used for a month Just sitting boxed up in my guarage. A good waste of money.
