4 struts. So they are charging you $300 - $400 for labor. What a bend over charge. DIY man. Cheap Monroe struts too.

Dont forget you have to get an alignment after you change them.

Dont know if I'm the only one wondering but what is the difference between struts and shocks? I thought shock its just an older term for struts, and something technical also.

To my knowledge, and I could be very wrong on this, a strut is a shock with a platform on it for a coil spring whereas a shock is just a shock.

We've been over this way too many times.

Technically, all 4 dampers are struts. BUT, the rears are not MacPherson struts. For this reason, most people just call the rears shocks, even though it's incorrect.

It doesnt matter what they call them. You want 4 new dampers.

Any price over $250 for installation is a rip off. It's a 3 hour job, don't let them tell you any different.

If the FSM calls the fronts struts and the rears shocks, I'm gonna do the same.

Struts also perform a second job. Unlike shock absorbers, struts provide structural support for the vehicle suspension, support the spring, and hold the tire in an aligned position. Additionally, they bear much of the side load placed on the vehicle's suspension. As a result, struts affect riding comfort and handling as well as vehicle control, braking, steering, wheel alignment and wear on other suspension components, including tires.

OMG, they're really ripping you off. You could get a set of illumina's and have them installed for that much (probably a bit less). If you're sticking with stock springs just get some tokico blues or KYB GR2's and find some independent (non chain) to install them. probably cost $300-400 at the most.
