short shifter...easy to install?

short shifter...easy to install?

I'm thinking of buying a short shifter (maybe cosmo off ebay) and I was wondering if it was difficult to install it. Did anyone install it by yourself and is there a write up for this, i couldnt find it in the stickies. I would like a write up. Oh and i wanted to know if it really makes the difference. thanks!

IMO Dont waste your money on a cheap one. If not manufactured with quality in mind it could snap. Get a brand name for the extra money..it would be well worth it.

I have a Stillen STS installed on to my car for about a year. It works great but the install was a biotch. It took my father and I about 5 hrs to do it. But as a noob I was pretty proud of myself for installing this Stillen product that had 3 wrenches. Which means get a mechanic to install it.

On a scale of 1 to 10 (10 being the hardest): I would rate it about a 6.

it is not hard at all. the hardest part is getting the cat off. i took my car to a exhust shop and they loosened the bolts for $5 drove it home, and took it off. after i got it off instal was a sinch.
