My odometer and trip just quit working. All the other gauges still work though. Any ideas as to what might be wrong?

 

I want to know too cause my odometer stoped a few months as well.

 

need a new speedometer head, same happened to me when I first got the max, took it back to the dealership and got them azzes to fix it for free.

Since we have analog the part was about $160 in that range, I'd sugggest calling the dealership and telling them about the odometer and hear what they say.


I think this migh the one few times we have to take it back to the dealership to be repaired, but I dont really know. But I same happened to me it would work on and off.

 

What is the speedometer head? Do you know how long it took them to install it, or how much the labor was?

 

I just called nissan and the repair guy said he thought it might be something in the circuit board and I would be looking at atleast $500-600 to fix it. I really don't want to pay that, I'm a poor college student.

 

Now the stupid thing started working again while I was driving to work tonight. It wasn't working for about 25-30miles or so. I guess this would explain would my gas milege would plummet every once in a while.

 

My speedo worked on and off, somes the milage would change and then at times it wouldnt.

I'm not too sure what the speedometer head is exactly but they had sold me the max is sucha bad shape they fixed that with other problems for free so I dont know the prices exactly but I remember seeing in the area of $150 for the new speedo head just the part (that was a quote from another nissan dealership).

there was another memeber who was having the same problem, I'll search for him and see how he got the problems fixed.
