What are the benefits of a battery like this. Is it neccesary if there are a lot of accesories connected in the car (ie tv, system, foglights, etc)?

It would help for sure. You can get a good deal on them off ebay.

I worte this in another thread but I think the difference between red and yellow top is that yellow tops are deep cycle batteries, they have much greater reserve capacities so you can run more cr@p on em.

I believe Optima is the most expensive and like many other things on this forum, people like to buy the most expensive available. Like having 4-piston calipers and drilled rotors, probably a status symbol. Performance-wise Exide builds a newer battery with better specs than Optima, and wouldn't you know it, costs less. My personal opinion is my car is not a show car, I simply want it to start. For $69 I got a battery with ridiculous CCA, though it had a joke name like jokeycraft 850 with 39 mo. free replacement, that's all I need. If one goes deep cycle, I hope they understand what that was designed for.
