Remote wire hook up

Where is a 12v source to run my remote wire to?, ive had it tapped into the cigarette lighter source but now that just takes my car chargers and radar detector power away...where else can i hook it to?

What type of remote wire are you hooking up? Is it for an amp?

In that case use the blue or white/black wire from your ignition switch to the harness.

Take your steering column covers off and you'll find the wires leading from the switch to the bottom of the dash.

These only come on when the key is in the accessory position

or use the power supply from your head unit, or the power for the antenna if it is for an amp.

Use a SPDT relay. You get can the power directly from the battery and use the ignition switch to turn it on/off.
