different gearing on certain RS5F50A/V trannies?

check out this page...
http://www.vibratesoftware.com/html_...nsmissions.htm
look at the altima, it uses the same tranny--RS5F50A, but look at the 2000-01 altima...gearing is shorter and closer...interesting...me like...! better acceleration and easier to keep in the mevi band! the 97-99 altima shares the same gearing as we do though...

I just wonder if the canadian altima SE's had locking diff trannies--RS5F50V like the canadian 2000-01 maxima SE's did....

this tranny should bolt right up to our cars to...wouldn't it? I would think they would only redesign the tranny mount to fit it and leave the bellhousing/mount connection the same...

looks like they mounted it to the 2.4L that they had in those years...

good info , I like the way auto tranny feels on my Dad's 01 Altima , the power is always there , and no annoying overdrive at 39mph

Nick.

problem is none of the yards on car-part.com is answering me back on whether or not they have locking diff's....so I don't know which one to buy....

but if it is true that the gearing is truly shorter and closer...except for 5th which is actually longer...this tranny should be pretty nice to have...

so a tranny off a altima should bolt right up? I am just wondering if it would be like the 00-01 maxima 5spds where they revised the shift linkage connector somewhat so our shifter actually sits further back...as for axles, I would just get whatever axels I like from raxles? and just tell them whether it's LSD or not? meaning the year differences didn't change the axles at all I assume and one year isn't better than another is it?

now if I can just get a reply from the junkyards as to if any of them are LSD 5spds....

I didn't know some US altimas has VLSD on their 5spds as well...thought maybe it was like the canadian maxima's where only the canadian SE models had it...

try going to altima.net and asking one of the guys there for a copy of the FSM, at least the page where it shows the bolt layout, or jsut go to like advance auto part and look at the haynes manual ans see if the bolt pattern is the same, if so it should be bolt on, as far as axles goes maybe ask marty @ raxle to compare the altima axle vs the maxima axle visually and see if there is much of a diff? hees a good guy im sure he wouldnt mind
