I have a 5 speed, and sometimes when I start it, the engine revs/squeels for about a second as it is starting. It will jump to about 2.5 rpms and then be fine. Im just wondering if its anything i should be concerned about. I was told it could be a belt of some sort or the starter. What should i do to fix it?

 

Check your belt tension first. If theyre loose try adjusting them. Start with the cheapest scenario and works your way up.

 

you could try re-greasing the starter.
