???? 99 gauges don't come off. 99 Gauges its all orange. You won't be able to make them clear. You could only do that to the SE.

On my 99 SE needles the paint also didn't want to come off at first but it eventually came off with alot of effort. Once I started using lower grit sand paper it allowed me to clear them much quicker but it still takes alot of effort. If you want to check your needles to see if they are clear, hold them sideways and shine a flashlight on them. You should be able to see the 2 layers. One is the orange paint, the other is the clear plastic. Also, don't be fooled by the reflection that the paint may cause in the plastic. Took me a few mintues of looking to find out what side the paint was on my needles at first (bottom). Good luck to you.
