Tein S-Tech+Tokico Illuminas or Tein Basic Damper (sleeve coilover)

Right now I'm trying to decide between Tokico Illuminas paired with Tein S-Techs or the Tein basic damper sleeve coilovers.

The two factors I'm weighing:

1. I have a four to five finger gap right now and I want to get rid of it as best as possible. If the coilovers would give me significantly more drop, then they might be worth it. I just don't want my car to look slammed. I know the coilovers are adjustable (hence: prevent slamming), but if I just wind-up setting to them to something similar as what the Illuminas+S-techs would give, then it doesn't seem really worth it. Which brings us to point #2.

2. The coilovers are $300 more than the Illuminas+S-Tech setup. If both setups are comparable for issue #1, is it really worth it/necessary to spend the extra $300?

Let me know your thoughts.

tokico springs (in the kit from cm) will give about 1.7/1.5... to me that is moderate against being slammed, and 4x4... s-techs are slammed to me, but maybe not to you... have you considered the tokico springs? if so, then ok... but if not then check out gtr_riders cardomain... lovely!

Hey, is GTR-rider's car have Tokiko springs and Illuminas? His blk Max looks nice, that's the look I want. But aren't the Tokiko springs stiff and alot of $$ ?

oh no no... on maxmods they are listed right under h&rs... therefore... oem > h&r > tokico > eibach and other stiffer springs... they are only around $200 or so... you can price them...

Why dont you just get D2 coilovers? Springs are great but with that much of a drop susension travel is very limited... D2's are about the same price as the Teins but have alot more in adjustablity

I think it is about location those with coilovers also have the option to raise the car, lets say for a given season. Since you are in the South with barely any potholes I might add SAVE the $300 and go with option #1.
